Bad Breaks...and everything else

My 2k2 civic has 34,000km on it, which is im guessing 20,***miles, and the dealership told me that I have less than 3mm left on my front break pads, and my rear drums make a skweeking noise everytime i release the breaks. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this problem but my little old "reliable" civic has sent me to the dealership 4 times in the past 2 months. REALLY starting to **** me off...sorry, just had to vent...

and oh yeah, my interior is falling apart!!!
bloody P.O.S.:

P.S. I don't beat my car up, and i downshift all the time

this is a venting post, so if anyone wants to flame, please feel free.

I have 26,000mi and I have about 30% still left on the pad. Maybe you do brake hard but dont realize it. 4 trips to the dealer, you must be doin something wrong.

Imo, 20,000k is way too many miles to say that there is/was something wrong with the brakes themselves.

Second, just because the brakes are making noise, it DOES NOT mean they need to be replaced.

Brakes are also a problem with the Civics.
I replaced mine at 14,000 miles.

I noticed that on my parents 2 brand new jeep cherokees and my new civic, feels like I go back and forth when braking, my civic the brakes vibrate a bit when I'm going from lets say 100 down to 50, I guess thats normal, I know they aren't meant to stop that quickly though?

17K miles...brakes have started squealing. I'm hoping AutoZone will have some Performance Friction pads for my Civic.
