Notchy shifting standard trans
Hey I read some post where one guy said that he had a notchy feeling while shifting ... and I think I got that same annoying prob aswell. For me it happens when I am shifting from 1st gear to 2nd ... it goes in ... doesnt slip or anything (so its nothing major) but its just a weird feeling, not enough to describe as clunkyness, but rather as simple a notchy feeling, while bringing the shifter down from 1st to 2nd.
What do you guys think this could be ... would the dealership think I am retarded for bringing up the issue. I only got 2300km's on the car about 1000 miles. I almost want to go to the dealership and ask to test drive a 2003 si (cdn coupe model)... to see if it got that same sorta feeling in the shifting. I hear the tranny is supposed to shift smoothy ... but I would hardly consider that smooth.

That's me, here's the thread
I'm going to the dealer with it tomorrow and it isn't just 1-2, it's 2-3 and 3-4 also. I am going to guess that the clutch is not fully disengaging. Thats what happened the last time this happened. Overall this is dealer trip #4 for gear shifting related problems. They adjusted the alignment of the linkages and somehow got it working again, then other stuff started happening too, so who knows if the first fix solved anything.

mine gets like that when i clutch and hold the gear, it kinda pops or chops out of gear into the next. but when i pay attention to my shifting, i never have the problem.

my tanny feels notchy when the car is cold and hasn't been started in few days. once it's warmed up, it'll usually be pretty smooth. only once and a while do i get the 1st to 2nd notchyness when the car is warm.
