Still at the dealership
Well its now been a week without my car. My car shifts hard and keeps popping out of second gear when making left hand turns and the dealership has now tried fixing it 3 times. Theres a service bulliten on it, but even after replacing 1st,2nd, 3rd, and 5th gears along with the outer transmission housing it still has a problem. At this point I think the only option is to put in a whole new transmission. Luckily its under warranty still, but with only 9000 miles on the car you wouldnt think it should be a problem. If anyone else has problems with their 2001 5 speed coupe shifting hard from 1st to 2nd then definatly bring it in to get it fixed before your problem gets worse like mine.

Maybe check your lemon laws in your area if the dealer doesnt fix it. I think that after a certain amount of legitimate attempts they have to give you a replacement or your money back.. sumptin like that.

Stopped and talked with them today. After replacing all gears but 4th they test drove it and as soon as they put in in 4th and let out the clutch, it now pops out of 4th. They said they overnighted the parts yesterday and they were there this morning but the tech that was working on it called in sick, so it should be done tomorrow. I've also had a squeak in the engine which I let them know about so if thats not gone I'm gonna flip out. The bad part is I have so much stuff done to the car, I'm not sure if they deem it a lemon what will happen to all my aftermarket parts? On top of the fact that the trunk has a custom fiberglass install in it and I no longer have the factory trunk pieces to go back in there.
Did they say anything about your drop maybe causing too much load on the tranny ? I hear dealerships say that sometimes ... and if they did how did you get around it so they would fix it under warrantee ? basically, what did you say to the dealer so they didnt blame it on your mods ?

Ho told me not to worry about it and things would get fixed, but they called yesterday and said the parts still weren't there.

Honda called today and they have no clue on how to get it to stop poppong out of 4th gear. They order me a whole new transmission and said they would have my car till atleast next friday. So if something else happens then i'll be very close to the 30 days to make the lemon law take effect. Its pretty sad that after only 9,000 miles on the car that the entire tranmission has to be replaced.

I've heard of crazy stories where the dealer would say something like since you added a CAI(or any other AM part), it increased the performance of the car and subsequently put more stress on the tranny. Sometimes they can get away with saying this, but in most states they have to prove in court that the AM part did in fact cause the problem. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please thanks. Hopefully you dont have to go there and get all nasty with them... good luck.
