converting to a manual will be more expensive cuz they have to alter the interior a lil bit to get the stick in there and some other stuff but ask them. they might give you the money for the new auto tranny and you pay the extra. that'd be the best way to go.

My car has made that noise since the begining. Dealer says that is normal. But it is now getting louder, and my car has 21k miles on it. Im kinda disappointed in this car. Heard good things about this car, but not really turning out. I also now have to bring my car back to the dealer for a 3rd time so they can fix the drivers seat rocking problem again.

Not the first time that I've heard of our auto trannies crapping out right after the warranty ends. The funny thing is...the best way to protect your tranny is to change the ATF regularly, but Honda recommends a 60K change interval for servere conditions. These auto's are crapping out way before that.

I have found a way to live with the cli-clank.

I found that If I rev the engine (cold is best) to 3000 or so and slam the auto shifter into D, I cannot detect a cli-clank, however this does cause the seat back to rock.

I am not as impressed with my 02 auto civic as I was my 99 stick.

45 large on a 01! Damn that is serious... Have you replaced the tranny fluid yet? I live in the desert and am thinking that 30 or 40 thousand may be a bit too long? What do you think.

When I'm parked on an incline and put my honda in park and let off the brake it starts to have wierd vibration. Has anyone had a similar problem to this? And what should I do about it? My car is 8 months old, has 28,000 and will be out of the warrenty by the middle of next year. Thanks.

Honda's warranty is 3 years or 36,000 miles ...whichever comes first.

turboslug will become famous soon enoughturboslug will become famous soon enough
not sure if this means anything but my first 7th gen crashed front first into a lamp pole...

i left the engine on and tranny in park and ran out of the car...(smoke was everywhere and there was that burning smell....was thinking of crown vics and how the doors will jam if the fram buckles...well my door still opened and i got out while i can..hehe)

around 30s later, the car went into reverse by itself and did doughnuts in the intersection...

emergency crew said they never heard of the automatic tranny going into reverse even if rammed hard.....

even the insurance agent laughed uncontrollably when they heard that the car went into reverse by itself...the claims adjusters said they've never heard of any cases where the automatic tranny goes into reverse after an accident.....

anyways, lots of peeps thinks civics got weird auto trannys...the car also rolls backwards very easily while stopped on hills...
