Malfunction Indicator light went on

Has anyone had this light come on? It started happening this morning and I took it to the dealer. They said I needed to leave it there for the whole day to find out the problem, but since I was running late to work, I made an appt for tomorrow. I read the manual and checked the gas cap, but that didn't do anything. Any suggestions?

Wow...I didnt even know we had a light that said Malfunction. I dunno what would be considered a malfunction...and ECU problem? I'd like to know as well if anyone has an idea.

Well, my light came on and then my idle went high shortly after. Cause, throttle position sensor not function right. Fix? Well, honda tried once but no luck!

I had that same problem. I took it to my local Honda dealer in Germany 6 times and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. After a few months it just went away and hasn't come back since.

Mine came on Saturday when I was installing an outside temperature gauge. I was under the dash with a test light looking for a good place to power the gauge from, I ended up just going with an un-used fuse in the fuse box, but now my Malfunction indicator is on. I'm assuming I might have set something off with my test light?? I was hoping it would go away, but I've driven the car about 60 miles since and it's still on.

I'm going to swing by the local dealership here and show them today. I'm not going to tell them i was poking around though, that would most likely void a warrentee fix. I didn't buy my car at this dealership and it's my first trip to them in 28,000 miles, so hopefully they will have good customer service even though I didn't get the car from them. Mine actually did it for a few months. Don't know why or how but it cleared itself. It didn't matter how many times the dealer reset it it always came back. But like I said before I just dealt with it and it eventually went away for good.
