Lowered, now it clunks

I bought cheap *** OBX coilovers for my 2002 but now it clunks when i turn. The springs dont rotate freely when i turn and honda cant/wont do anything for me. So i figured i'd cut out some small pieces of thin hard plastic into circles like the non-$99 coilovers have that aluminum capand rubber on. So......my question is. Can someone please measure the size of the cap so i can cut it out without having to measure because that would mean me having to take my car to the shop 2 times thanks guys

no, they did not regrease the upper bearing plate. Is that something that would help and could be done easily?

and i have also heard that many people have this same problem JB but just because everyone else has it doesnt mean that i want to settle for it. Hopefully someone in here can solve the problem for at least us 3.

it goes away. i got the same coilovers, and i had the same noise from the front drivers side. It clunked when i turned, only. but they don't do it any more. i did nothing to it. just turn your music up louder and you can't hear it. thats what i did, and eventually it went away. i dont' really remember. what i remember is that i would be driving, and at like a stop sign or stop light, goin to turn left, and i would hear it. it would **** me off. i thought that the installer guy did a crappy job. but then it went away. i don't really remember when....i just stopped payin attention to it. i don't remember exactly when tho, just htat it was before spring, cuz i drove with my windows down all the time. and i didn't hear it anymore. sorry i can't be more specific. but it WILL go away.

Hey Ohio Josh I had the same trouble it is not the coilovers it is a bad install either the bearing is not set right or the tabs that go around the top spring mount are bent. here is the LINKto the thread that will help you! It has nothing to do w/ grease.

THANKS FOR THE INFO!!! I'm gonna go try that ASAP, but i'm lazy so i'm not sure when that will be. I'll repost when i do though. Or anyone else try to "adjust" their springs like the link says repost on here and let everyone know how it worked. Here' s what they had to say in the link anyways:

Quote of Silver2002 "This is true y2k, but only if you have the spring properly aligned. The spring has to be aligned so that when you turn the wheel it isn't the thing turning. There is obviously a catch at the bottom that the spring automatically falls into. The problem is whith the top where it is not so obvious. You can see a portion of the top plate where it gets thinner. The end of the top of the spring has to be placed just before the narrow part, but not to far over so that the plate doesn't lay flat. Now when you look at the strut assembly she should be able to visualize turning the wheel one way and the bottom catch holding the spring in place and when you turn the wheel the other way the top plate should hold it in place."
