Popping out of gear?

my '01 civic pops out of 2nd gear pretty often, does anyone know why? or is it because of my 19 inch wheels

i know it's not normal..thats why i am trying to get some feedback. i've gone to the dealer numerous times and of course when they drive it, it doesn't happen. i am guessing it's from my wheels, but i dont know what to do.

It doesn't have anything to do with your wheels. It's a known problem. Honda issued a TSB on this a while back. Follow the link. They're just giving you the run around. Give them the TSB number, tell them to fix your car and that they can kiss your for not telling you about this.

Would a bulletin pertaining to an '01 be considered relevant for an '02? Because sometimes when I shift from 2nd to 3rd, when i begin to press on my clutch (very lightly, getting ready to shift) with just my hand resting on my shift ****, it will jump from 2nd to neutral without any pressure from my arm...would that be considered "popping out of gear"?

They were supposed to have fixed the problem for '02, but you never know. I'm assuming your car is still under warranty being an '02. If so, then they should fix the problem. Plus, what you're describing is exactly what's happening. The bushings in the linkage need to be replaced.

If you go through the site and select the '01 EX, there is the same TSB for the EX, in fact, all models it looks like (the stiff shifting/popping out of gear one, #01-081)

I need the detailed repair steps. Can you get that ?? Alldata now keeps that detailed repair instructions out of the website. Anyone here can help me get hold of that instructions ?? I need to convince my dealership there's a problem. All they keep doing is bleed my clutch system everytime I go there. Very fed up with the issue here.

Give them the TSB number, and tell them the bushings in the shift linkage need to be replaced. If they give you crap, then contact Honda of North America.

Not sure. If you go to alldata you can look for yourself. This site is where they have the TSB numbers listed. I don't think it mentions anything about specific countries.
