Strange problem... please help.
Hello:
I don't know why but sometimes I'm in a red light and my car starts to low de revolutions and it looks like si going to shot down. I have 24,000 miles on it now. Do I have to change something or what can I do?
PLease Help

This problem has nothing to do with the air compressor(I assume you mean a/c compressor)because my a/c hasn't been on when it does it, and the a/c circulating on and off wouldn't cause the car to try to shut off.
hmmm my 2k1 lx does same thing but not with a/c on. one time it did shut off and i got pyssed off. Every time i start it, it acts like it wants to shut off. funny huh? the rpm dips real low like 200 rpm the goes back up. who knows?
i've heard of peeps complaining about their civics stalling on them...
does that problem just appear out of nowhere or does it begin with the car shaking(but never actually stalls)? does it start stalling after a few more days, weeks, or months after the car started having the shaking problem?
i was backing out of my driveway today and when i pushed down the brake to shift into D, the car started shaking as though it was going to stall...(it recovered and didn't stall though)

For me it has been while sitting at a stop light, and all the sudden the rpm's drop and the car stutters like it is about to stall out. Then it rights itself, raises the rpm's and runs right again. It's not something that happens everyday, more like once a week to once every two weeks.
FWIW I put my stock intake back on the car, and reset the ECU and if anything the problem has gotten worse. I intend to take it back to Honda next week so they can look a little closer.

i drove a 03 corolla for 1 week...
i got stuck in a traffic jam one time...
after idling completely still for a lil while, the car will reduce rpm....the brake pedal will also fall a lil lower at the same time....
the car doesn't stutter but the brake pedal is really annoying...
it's a feature to save gas

If you don't take your intake off they will automatically blame the probelm on it. All I can do for now is wait for it to do it while they have it or pray it sets a code.
Sets a code aka your check engine light comes on because there is a problem that has set a code in the computer. You normally have to take it to the dealer to have them check the codes to find out where the malfunction is....
It's been happening to me lately....and it's funny how it's exactly what yours is doin, I wonder how many people this has happened too?? Anyway I have an appointment next Thursday to get it checked and serviced
.I guess I better take my intake off.I'll let u guysknow how it goes
i have had the same problem since i had the car and i have had it for a year with14k on it i went to the dealer for it and the said there was problem..
and you can reset the ECU yourself by pulling the negative terminal on the battery, step on the brake for 60 seconds, reconnect ground cable, start car, let ECU learn idle and it should be good (i think..wrx is like that)

I'm going to take mine back next week when I have time off so they can keep it overnight. The service manager sat in the car and felt the way it was idling; kind of lopey, almost as if it were misfiring.
Hi there and the rest of you guys having this "shuttering" problem. Get Honda to replace the ECU. There's a batch of ECUs that are faulty. I had mine replaced and its fine now. I have the exact same symptoms as you guys regardless of whether the aircon is on or off. Replace the ECU !!!! Don't allow them to adjust the tappets. They adjusted mine twice before confirming it was my ECU. Damn it.... I lost the precise engineered tappet clearance from Honda(Japan) because of this !!! The tappets being too tight is total bull.. don't take that excuse from the mechanics at the dealership.. get that darn ECU replaced !!!! Hope you guys get it fixed soon. Good luck. So I got my car back today and according to Honda(I picked it up after hours or else they would have kept it)when I unhooked the battery and reset the ECU I didn't allow the car to "re-learn" it's idle as PGM FI vehicles need to be allowed.
I might be female but I am not stupid...I did that too already

The Honda dealership promised me an ECU swap if the problem continues after 2 times of tappet adjustments... It solved the problem. All you guys go get it changed as soon as possible. "Knocking" is really unhealthy for the engine.
