Rep Power: 0 HELP! Headlights Wont Turn Off
Hey All,
Today as I walked back to my car after coming outta blockbuster, I noticed my headlights were on. I thought I might've forgot to turn them off but my tailights were off, so when I checked, my headlights switch was off, but my lights were still on. Not my parking, turn signal, tails or anything, only my main Headlights. When I turn off the switch or turn off the car they don't turn off. I dun even get that beeping noise when you turn off your car and your lights are on. My car thinks they're off, but they're on. I dunno what to do. I guess I'll try and take it to the dealer tomorrow morning, but for now I just opened the hood and pulled the plugs (only way I knew to get them off).
If anyone has any suggestions or knows why...I'm listening. I just hope the dealer doesnt give me problems since I cleared the lights and and changed the bulbs. Thanx in advance for any help!

Rep Power: 0 well, since it's a bit of an emergency disconnect the black terminal of the battery until someone posts a useful answer.
edit: sorry, i didn't read that you already plugged the plugs... disregard my reply.

Rep Power: 0 your problem is a short to voltage in the headlight circuit, which means there is a switch in the circuit that opens when your lights are turned off, but your switch is stuck closed, or voltage is going around the switch insted of threw it. replacing the switch should solve your problem.

Rep Power: 0 I went to a few dealerships today, but got turned away because their electric specialists arent there on weekends. One dealership told that that since I have aftermarket bulbs (Hiper Super Plazma Xenon) that they wont touch it. And that I would have to come back with the original bulbs in it. Basically if it isnt factory stuff they wont touch it. Now I gotta switch my bulbs out for the originals.
Another dealership (the one I bought my car from) said that it's most likely because of the aftermarket bulbs. He said that it happens to people. Basically since it has a higher draw, it burns out the relay, controller, and possibly other stuff too. He gave me his earliest appointment which is in a week and a half...so basically I cant drive in the dark or rain till then since I unplugged them and plugging them in could cause more damage. He also said that if they determine it is due to the bulbs then I'm not covered under warranty and I would have to come up outta the pocket, which would suck. He said that for aftermarket bulbs like these, I would need an amplifier for the current. As far as I recall, I never saw anyone on this site that mentioned using an amplifier for aftermarket bulbs...nor do I recall their bulbs causing the problem, but I dunno.
Current Plan: Replace the aftermarket bulbs with facotry ones tomorrow and then on Monday morning, take it to a dealership that hasnt seen the aftermarket ones in it yet and basically lie and pretend the factory bulbs caused the problem...ethically wrong, but it seems like it might be necessary to save the loot.
Sorry for the long update, but anymore input/advice is appreciated.
