When I drive over 60 MILES/HOUR my steering wheel shakes, it increases as I speed up, is my alignment off?

Also the tread on my front tires wears off hella quick, my back tires looks brand new, I know it is front wheel drive, but It never wore down this quick, now they look like radial tires.... can you guys suggest anything?

Alginment won't cause a vibration but will wear out tires prematurely, unless of course you drive hard into turns and don't rotate your tires. If you don't have them rotated and balanced regularly you'll have the problem you discribe, but if you burn it hard into turns and drive hard your tires will wear quickly on the outsides. BTW all tires on new cars are Radials, Bias Plys are very hard to find, unless you have a Semi truck you won't find them. How many miles do you have on the car?

130, 000 miles 94 civic. I do rotate my tires As I should, and I rarely turn hard. But I think my alignment is off....

Have the same problem....trust me, if you take it to get balanced and they do it right, it will make a hella difference!!! I just found out that if you get your tires balanced @ National Tire & Battery, they will give you freee balancing for the life of the tires....cool huh???

Does anyone know how tight hub rings are supposed to fit??? I mean, do they hav eto be so tight that they snap right inside the wheel hub and have to be pulled out or loose enuff for them to pop out of the wheel hub themselves??
