door handle goes in too far

a month or so ago, one of the two little rubber pieces that sit behind the door handle (driver's side) to keep it from going in too far came out (i noticed because the handle was pushed out too far). i couldnt get it back in, but it didnt seem to matter so i just set it aside. the other day, the other one came out too and now the door handle goes in about a centimeter too far when its closed, so its not even with the body like its supposed to be. i have both pieces, but i think im gonna take it back to the dealer so it gets fixed right. i thought it was strange that BOTH pieces came out on my car, but no one else on here had posted about even one coming out

I came out to my car the other day and noticed my handle was not flush with my door either. It was sticking farther out on one side. I noticed that one of the rubber grommet type things you were referring to popped out of the door, and was sticking to the inside of the handle. I pulled it out and jammed it back into the hole with i very tiny phillipshead. Good as new!
