Free Dealer Car Wash F*D my Car.

Hi, I need a minute to vent here! My dealer here in cleveland(motorcarshonda) offers free car washes on Saturdays. So being a nice sunny day I took my car in. Sounds great right.......Well little did I know, they were also were giving out FREE DENTS in your quarter panels. My baby, my poor baby got not only dinged...but loss paint! I noticed the dent which looks like the moron kid that took my car through their automated wash ran over something causing my car to get the dent. its not a scrape from a curb, but more like something similar to a hammer put a nice dent on the lower side. You can notice it unless you move your head down. OHHH AM I PISSED.
anyways, I IMMEDIATELY, took the car back....told the service rep. and she gave me the manager's name and number to call on monday cause he's out till then.

Then, not wasting any time, I showed my car to the salesguy who sold me it. He looked at it, and put his finger on the dent, thus removing FRESH paint....showing this was a fresh DENT in my car. He said, he couldn't figure out how this happened, but would also mention that he saw the dent to the Manager. So, i'll find out monday what they will do. Their big quote is "Customers for Life" but somehow I feel it should be "Customers will have DENTS for Life"
anyone else have a dealer ding up their car?

Jeez, makes me glad I bought my car at Jay in Bedford. I've never had a problem with their service department, and they actually hand-wash inside the garage. Of course, it's also not free unless you come in for warranty work or something. The moral of the story: If it's a nice day, wash it yourself!

Ugg that really sucks yeah I am the only person who has ever washed my car, well one time my mom and sister did but that is when they bought my car and I flew up to get it. But yeah I won't have anyone else drive my car, wash my car, or even touch my car but me. I just hate when I have to get my oil changed or my car worked on my baby is out of my reach that scares me.
But good thing you jumped on their case about that, but sorry it had to happen to you

Nick

update: I took my car back into Motorcars Honda, where I talked to Fred the Service Manager. He looked at the dent, analized it with some type of light with a magnifying glass on it (neat tool) showed me the car wash system, then ran it over to thier body shop. After a short wait, he told me, that they would fix the dent and give me the benifit of the doubt. He also noticed the one door ding I had and mentioned they could fix it for $125....I agreed to that....so its a win, win situation. I was pleasantly relieved that they didn't give me a big hassle over the whole situation. I'm just glad I caught the rocker panel dent before i left their lot. whew......

Thats cool that they're trusting you. Good Job honda! I dont think they hear that all the time so i'm guessin it doesnt happen very often. But i'm glad you got everything resolved. My car has only been washed twice by someone else and it was at the dealer. The wash was not bad and i no dings for me.

Decamo has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Thats nice that they fixed the dent for you for free and gave you the benefit of the doubt but $125 for a dent in the door?!?! Isn't that a bit too much? Should be about $50 for for a dent without paint needing to be fixed.

nah.....I don't feel i got ripped off on the DING....the reason is....it was a rather large wave on the upper rear quarter panel.....near where it creases......now if it was just a little mark.....sure it would've been a rip off....but I'm not one to be fooled so easily.....

Re: Free Dealer Car Wash F*D my Car.

I bought my car at Rick Case for the free car washes. Mentor Honda had a car the same price but with a navigation system. I thought I would probably use the car wash a lot more than the navigation system. In the 5 years I've owned the car I think Case's car wash as been open about 12 times! I stop there several times a week but they claim they can't operate it in the winter (every other car wash can) and in the summer it's always "broken" although I've seen them remove the cones and put a car throught when they want to. No more Rick Case for me.
