EPS light

After replacing the alternator belt the EPS light comes on. Turning off the car, the light goes out and turns on again at random.
Every help is welcome

Re: EPS light

In the service manual it says to connect the SCS short conector to the service check conector 2PA to read the DTC. Is this the same as shorting the contacts of the conector?

Re: EPS light

Do you mean the Check Engine Light? You need to hook up a diagnostic scanner to the OBDII port under the dash on the driver's side to read the code. Report back with the code in this format P####. Autozone or similar will read codes for free.

Re: EPS light

Or do you mean the battery light? Check that the bolts to the alternator bracket are tight and not loose. These bolts act as the ground for the alt. Check your alternator and battery too.

Re: EPS light

OP is in Portugal, the cars there probably aren't quite the same as what we have in North America.

Does your service manual show you what the SCS connector looks like, and give a location for it?

Yes it just needs a jumper to bridge (short) the two terminals in question

Re: EPS light

Hi
Yes. I Know where the connector is and how it looks like.
I will short the two contacts and check the DTC from the blinking of the EPS light.
Thank for your held
