just got project 2002 ex
problems:
1. gear selector hardware hacked up
2. window regulators gone
3. half the gauge cluster lights dead
4. sunroof stuck
5. needs clutch master cylinder slave and clutch set.
6. door panels gone
7. a/c compresor wires disconnected
8. slammed - passanger front slammed extra
9. needs paint job
10. steering column trim loose for some reason.
11. abs light....and srs light.....
12. door chimes inop
13. non-vtech header
14.odometer backlight inop
15.missing key fob
16. door speakers and tweaters trashed
17. is there a dimmer switch?
only 2 fault codes.... p0141..p0135 missing both 02 sensors.

Sounds like hack-job modification-based issues. And some electrical issues.
3) Easy fix, just a bunch of 1/4-twist sockets with incandescent bulbs.
4) Stuck sunroof could be lubrication or electrical. Test it out by manually opening/closing the sunroof. If it moves freely, then it's an electrical issue
Similar process to the CRV procedure I linked above.
8) Slammed suspension: hack job suspension mods. Can be (hopefully) easily fixed by swapping in new suspension components.
10) Just some screws holding it down. Check for missing screws or possibly stripped out holes
11) ABS light, well, kinda self explanatory. Could be a fuse. Could be the ABS module. SRS light, there's a way to get the SRS code at home, then go from there to figure out the issue. 2001-2005 civics are fairly notorious for having a sensor fault in the driver's side seat belt buckle. Mine just started that, and the issue is the switch that says "yes, I'm buckled in" intermittently doesn't work. Alternatively, you can try resetting the SRS code and see if it comes back. DIY: Reset SRS Airbag light (With Video)
12) I can't quite recall if there actually is a door chime. I don't ever recall hearing one in my 2002. Come to think of it, I need to check if the "Door Ajar" light on the cluster lights up. Or if there even is one. lol
13) So someone swapped in a D17A1 exhaust manifold in? Kinda odd. Effectively installing another cat and more O2 sensors? Furthermore, those exhaust manifolds are notorious for cracking, too.
14) Just like #3, iIt's just a 1/4 twist bulb. Easy to swap out or modify for LED backlighting, though, the latter option is a bit more challenging if you go the DIY way and you don't want splotchy lighting.
15) More of an inconvenience if anything. Buy replacement fob, find out how to program it to your keyless entry system. It's been a while since I did it, so I forgot the procedure.
16) Sounds like more hack-job modification, or listening to music far too loud. Easy to swap, just be aware of speaker mounting depth for the door speakers. Aftermarket tweeters should fit in the sail panels on the door.
17) Indeed there is. There are 2 little.. stick.. things.. poking forward on the gauge cluster. Right is the trip reset button. Left should be the dimmer
Onto your missing O2 sensors, and kinda in tandem with issue #13. Factory O2 sensor locations for the EX is under the car on the downpipe, after the downpipe takes a 90-degree bend; one before the cat, one after the cat. Now, if you have a dx/lx exhaust manifold installed, then I have reason to believe one of two things: 1) you also have a dx/lx b-pipe installed or 2) previous owner had the ex downpipe cut and flanged to mate with the lx/dx header. If the latter is true, then you theoretically have 4 O2 sensor bungs and 2 catalytic converters installed in your car. If the former is true, then you have 2 O2 sensor bungs and 1 cat that is integrated into the manifold. I'm not sure what course of action to take until we know for sure which setup your car currently has.

Got any questions, feel free to post up. This forum started as a 7th-gen specific forum (2001-2005 civic), so there's a LOT of knowledge here about them. Plus, I've been on these forums since 2003, and I'm still driving my 2002 ex

So. Just took a look at my cluster this morning, and didn't notice any "door open" light. Google search showed the same: no warning light. No chime/buzzer either.
Do the door lights still turn on/off when you open/close the door respectively? If so, I see no issues there

Definitely some aftermarket stuff tapped in there.
I may have some 2002 civic ex parts for sale here soon. I just pronounced my car dead due to engine repair issues. Unless I can get away with selling her to someone as a rolling chassis that needs a new engine block.. and some rear subframe work..
