Need help with AC problem

2001 civic lx

My AC stopped blowing cold. It still works slightly, but the air is just barely cold. I checked to make sure the compressor was still working (it was). The clutch is kicking in and the fan is blowing. Checked the low pressure - it was good. I didn't feel like taking it into a shop so I just replaced the evaporator, drier, condenser, and expansion valve because it hadn't been serviced in a long time. Basically everything got replaced except the compressor. Then it got weird when I was recharging it. With the ac on, It only took about 6oz of refrigerant before the gauge was telling me the low side was full. When I press the accelerator, the pressure goes down to zero. When I let off the accelerator and idle again, the gauge shows the ac is full. But it should take a lot more refrigerant than that to fill it. Could it be some kind of electrical problem, or is that something that can be caused by a faulty compressor even though it's compressing and heating the refrigerant like it's supposed to?
