Wtf clutch case cover

I am changing my clutch myself for the first time. When i was taking the transmission off one of the bolts that held on the clutch case cover was stripped so i had to pretty much destroy the clutch case cover to get it off of the bell housing.

No big deal i thought; this piece is light and flimsy and cant be worth much money.

Call the dealership and its 105 dollars and the cheapest i can find it online is like 70, any suggestions?

I don't have any idea what part you might be talking about.
Got more clues? Pics?

Try a junkyard?

Re: Wtf clutch case cover

are you talking about the little black piece of metal covers up the exposed half of the flywheel/transmission?

Re: Wtf clutch case cover

I was thinking the same thing, that the flywheel dust cover is what got destroyed, not the casing itself

Re: Wtf clutch case cover

That's exactly what it is!!! It is listed as a clutch case cover, or at least that's what the guy at Honda said when he ordered the part. If you know what it is then you would know how insignificant the piece is. It has the the material of half a pie tin. 105 $ is outrageous. I feel like pulling one out of pull a part would be too much work. Id have to disassemble the hell out of one of the cars to get behind the flywheel. Any ideas besides forking up the dough.

www.hondapartsunlimited.com

I just added the part to my cart (part number 21350-PLA-010) and selected overnight shipping. Rung up to just shy of $100. $76 if you can wait a few days and choose 2-3 day shipping.

Cut one from a pie tin?

Must not be too outrageous if you aren't willing to work for one from a you-pull-it yard.

Is it one of these hunks of tin?
Looks like it's about $66 online, plus shipping..

Re: Wtf clutch case cover

Kinda worried about the car dropping on my head at pull a part. Those cars are sitting on top of steel wheels in gravel. Ill have to take off mounts and really work under the car to get the transmission off. Nobody else worried about that at a salvage yard?

Re: Wtf clutch case cover

I've never had to do stuff like that at a pick-a-part, but I'd bring my jack stands with me if I were doing that.

However, I should add that every time I've gone, I don't think I've seen a single civic in the lot with an engine or transmission still left in the engine bay

Re: Wtf clutch case cover

You think those sites are valid? or is it worth 25 more dollars for genuine Honda parts?

Look closer.

Plenty of real Honda dealers sell parts at wholesale prices online.

Re: Wtf clutch case cover

hondaautomotiveparts.com (Majestic Honda - RI)
hondapartscheap.com (South Bay Honda - CA - Bay Area)
hondapartsunlimited.com (Bell Honda - AZ)

I've ordered from those 3 sites before. They're authorized genuine Honda parts dealers on the internet and are attached to Honda dealerships. I can assure you they're legit. I've most often found the best post-shipping prices from hondapartsunlimited.com, but then again, they are the closest ones to me (they're in Phoenix, I'm in Vegas. Seriously a 5 hour drive on a bad day). Just my 2 cents
