Transmission? Clutch? Axle?

Hi guys, i have a weird one here for you. I was driving my 97 civic yesterday, and as soon as i released the clutch going in to second gear i heard a pop, and now the car won't go in any gear. The clutch feels the same, I can shift into gears, but when I let out on the clutch the car doesn't even attempt to move. Any insight is appreciated.

Have you changed the clutch and transmission fluid lately?

No, the only thing I have done is add hydraulic fluid to the clutch reservoir a few months ago, it still has plenty in it.

Have you looked at the shifter cables? Maybe one snapped or popped out...

Run the engine and put trans in a gear, act like you are trying to go somewhere.......Does the speedometer needle register any speed?

If it registers speed, then your problem is CV joint or axle related.
Broke a CV joint or broke an axle, or an inner joint popped out of the trans.
