2001 replaced broken cam sensor now has noise
Have a 2001 civic ex, had a mechanic do the water pump also did the timing belt kit. When he was putting it back together he broke the cam position sensor. he tried jb welding it guess it held at first. After test drive seamed good. Then when and payed. On way out I noticed that I was bogging out pretty bad. That's when he told me that the sensor is broke and need replacing. Long story short I ended up bringing it home and replaced the sensor myself. Now when I try to start it, makes and horrible loud grinding metal to metal sound. Any idea what it could be?
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Post moved.
If the mechanic tried to cover up a broken sensor, what else could have happened?
Can you account for all pieces of the old sensor, none left inside the timing belt area?
Return to mechanic, see what he says?
