Whenever i move slowly in first gear from a stop i hear a grinding sound. It seems to me that its coming from the gearbox since it only does it in first and sometimes in second gear. This happens only when i move slowly from a stop. If i give a big acceleration and release the clutch pedal quickly it does not do it. Its not exactly a grinding sound its as if a piece of metal is slipping on another metal. What could it be?

Sounds just like what you think it might be, the gearbox. I'd look underneth the car first to see it anything might be loose, like linkage or the like. If you can't see anything I'd take it in right away.
