Rep Power: 0 Both windows stopped rolling down, and power locks wont work.
Okay I have searched it and have come to the conclusion it may be the wiring. My friend owns a 2001 civic dx and all of a sudden both his windows stopped working. I checked the fuses and they are all good. I put my working switches on his doors and still doesnt work. The chances of both his motors going bad at the same time are not possible. What should i be looking for since neither door switch works for rolling down the window, the fuses are all good and my working switches from my civic dont work in his car....
NEXT. My car. Both my windows work but my power locks wont work. I can manually lock them (passenger lock goes about half way down but still engages). When i press the button I hear clicks on both doors. Nothing happens though. i took apart the door cards and could not find any broken/ corroded wires and all vacuum lines are fine, and the fuses are all fine also. Any ideas?
If these issues have been posted 1000x im sorry for the repeat.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Ok, you may want a wiring diagram and volt/ohm meter.
I'll SWAG it's broken wire(s) in the drivers door jamb.
Turn the key on, hold the window switch up (or down) and s-l-o-w-l-y open and close the door, see if the window moves at all.
If so it's broken a wire.
Hopefully a broken wire will still be close enough to make contact as the door moves and the harness flexes.
If so, my opinion is that buying a door harness is cheap compared to wasting a ton of time to hack in a patch that may not last very long.
When i press the button I hear clicks on both doors.
No?
If you can see the motors attempt to pull on the lock ****, the motor is usually assumed to be weak.
Weak/bad lock motors are common. Replace.
If no action is seen/heard, use a voltmeter or test light to verify the system is supplying power and ground to run both (or all 4) actuators, just to make sure it is not a wiring or control unit problem.
and all vacuum lines are fine

Okay so this is what i have so far. I bypassed the switch. I set up a jumper from my cig lighter to the power lock wire and all it did was make the same clicking noise in both doors. I put the jumper from my battery to the power lock wire and the same thing happened. So its not a break in my wires or the jumper would have activated this. could it be the actuators? but the chances of them both going bad at the same time is impossible...

Locks? Oh damn I thought you were still on the windows. I can't read.
You could stick a test light (or #194 bulb) in the power lock connector to see that it lights up when the button is pushed, verifying power and ground. That would indicate the lock actuator is bad.
Noise with partial or no movement should be bad actuator.
