I'd do the belt and anything else in the area that needs attention (seals, tensioner, water pump?) at the same time --if I can afford it. If it's done right it shouldn't need attention until the next 7 years/100k mile maintenance interval.

maybe spark plugs... Whatever Re: Not your typical cooling system issue...
My home made spill-free funnel... except I think I could have drilled bigger holes or something to let more air out/water or coolant in. Kinda works, kinda doesn't... any ideas?

Okay, this may sound really dumb to you guys... but I just found a video I took like 2 weeks ago when I first started looking into this coolant problem, and now that I watch it again it definitely looks like a blown headgasket... which is funny cuz I've been in denial this whole time... but please check out this video and let me know your thoughts.

My home made spill-free funnel.
Buy the Lisle unit?
Video: Not sure if that's conclusive, but if I saw that it might be enough to warrant further investigation (meaning my usual testing you already tried).
I might just stick my funnel-fill on the rad to watch bubbles and water level changes.

Re: Not your typical cooling system issue...
Took my car in to the shop for diagnosis... drum role.... blown head gasket! Woohoo! not
he quoted me $1400 for head gasket and timing belt so I thought that was fair since I don't have time or a garage to fix it myself :/
Thank you guys for all your help and wisdom!
