Can your driveaxles be bent?

Hey guys and gals....it may be a dumb question but I just wanted to know if your driveaxles can be bent. Ever since I installed my strut bar, my car has rode like crap...it's tight and all, but when I accelerate, it bounces around a bit....is is just the wheels and tires from that factory that are causing this? Hopefully when I get my new rims and tires, it will all straighten out...gettin an alignment too! ANY help would be appreciated!

the engine doesn't really have the power to through them out of wack and you'd have to probably take a good hit to bend them.
