Sloppy Shifting + Rough Idle + Oil Burning
Sloppy Shifting + Rough Idle + Oil Burning
01 Civic EX Coupe 165k Miles
Plan of attack:
Sloppy Shifting
Rough Idle
Might wait to tackle this after the other 2 are taken care of, maybe it will fix itself
Oil Burning
I live in New England so keep that in mind. It gets cold, and I don't want to keep changing different types of fluids.
Plan of attack:
Sloppy Shifting
- Aluminum Shifter Base Bushings + Aluminum Cable Shifter Bushings
- MTF Flush + AutoRX (Should I use Redline, Amoil, or Honda Stuff?)
Rough Idle
Might wait to tackle this after the other 2 are taken care of, maybe it will fix itself
Oil Burning
- Change PCV Valve
- 5W20 High Mileage Oil Change + Mobile 1 Extended Filter
- (Should I put some AutoRX in here as well?)

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Got blue smoke?
Do the plugs show oil or white caked buildup?
I'd run 0W20 oil and hope it can clean out the stuck rings before the car wears out.
