01 Rear Passenger Power Window
Hey all. This is my first post here. I've looked around for a solution to this but i couldn't find a good method of trouble shooting this. My issue is that my rear passenger window wont roll up or down (edit: It hasn't worked since I got the car). I've taken off the panel to see whats going on, as far as I can tell, there's no reaction from the motor when i flip the master switch or switch on the door. I've heard the stories of the control board frying especially when the owner is a smoker, because of the additional moisture exposure. But neither I nor the previous owner is a smoker.
Anyways. How can I go about finding out whether I need a new motor, or if I need new switches?
An additional point to note, before I had it there was some kind of impact on that door. There is a very wide but very shallow (almost unnoticeable) dent on the door that points to this. Not sure of this collision would have been hard enough to jar the motor that badly.
Thanks ahead for any help!

Tip-Trick:
Peel the rubber cover back from the wire harness in the door jamb, pull on each of the wires and see if any of them have broken.
The wires eventually break where they flex every time the door is opened and closed. The large black wires tend to break first.
Rear door replacement harness is so cheap I will never bother to patch one for a customer.
Next tip would be that the rear door switches can be swapped if you think one may be bad.... But my money is on the broken wires.
And...Sometimes when the master switch is broken the button on the bad one may feel a little different...

I assume if all is working correctly with the switches I should see about 12V at the power lines for the window?
But yeah, battery voltage, whatever that may be.
If the window is seldom used, the motor could just be stuck. I see that once in a while.
If the door is often used (got kids in car seats?), I'd bet on the wires broken.
