ELD Question
ELD Question
I had the check engine light come on today, pulled code 1298. 2004 1.7l EX. From my search it seems the ELD may be the problem. I checked with my meter, 13.8v at battery with engine off. 16v when running. When I check at the connector on the bottom of the fuse panel I get a steady 5.2v on the ELD no matter the load. Does this seem correct, or is there something else I should check before replacing the ELD?
Thanks,
Ed

Re: ELD Question
ELD code = ELD is bad.
Replace the ELD.
There is a service bulletin about this for all 01-05 USA Civics (and 02-04 CRV).
Replacement Honda part # 38255-S5A-003
Looks like only $22 (plus shipping) from a reputable online dealer:

Re: ELD Question
Thanks for the reply. It is $36 at the local Dealership. I just wanted to make sure it was not a problem with the alternators regulator ot the ecu. Car has 93,000 miles so I expect it is getting to be time for things to need replacement.
