Fire can be your friend.

Gotta be careful with it though, a little heat can go a long way.

Re: Stuck Outer Tie Rod!!!!!

You turning the correct direction? Tie rod ends and hardware can sometimes get confusing.

I use oxy-acetylene for heat, not propane. I get at least part of the nut red, that is usually enough to get it freed up.
MAPP gas might get hot enough?

Yeah those suck when they get stuck. Hell of a bad place, especially when trying to do a wheel alignment.

Re: Stuck Outer Tie Rod!!!!!

somehow, i was expecting the first & most replies from u #eZone.. I'm right again

AT LAST !!!
Got it through...

Propane Gun helped... Managed to get a flame on top of it
Used an adjustable wrench to loosen the nut...

Both sides are out now...

Now i have a new Question...
I bought these - http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/m...581/20515912-P

It doesn't have a (screw) hole on top to fill grease... it has a (very) thin hole at the other end though... As far as i know, i have to fill grease before i put them... How do i go with these now ?

Help appreciated... Thanks

I don't see the name MOOG on here. Counterfeit?
The description says it's greaseable, yet no place for a zerk to thread in. Counterfeit?
True MOOG parts should say MOOG right on them IIRC.

Made in Japan?
Reboxed OEM?

Move the rubber boot to the side, see if it's already greased.

Re: Stuck Outer Tie Rod!!!!!

The boot doesn't need to be full, but the body of the joint should be.

Take it back, throw it on the counter, say WTF?
Go with OEM?
Install these anyway, see how long they last? (Load with chassis grease first and work it in)

Hmmm. Not sure what to think here.

Checked the MOOG (Federal-Mogul) site: http://www.fme-cat.com/overlays/part-detail.aspx?brand=MC&PartNumber=ES3581&pt=Tie%20Ro d%20End&lu=2003%20HONDA%20CIVIC&vin=

Re: Stuck Outer Tie Rod!!!!!

If the 'made in Japan' unit has a nylon impregnated bushing (same as OEM) instead of the powdered steel of the MOOG problem solver unit, I think I'd rather use it.

OE is lubed as it is built, and then completely sealed.

I'd still squirt some chassis grease into it and move the stud around to work the grease in.
