Help with ID on bracket?

New member, 2002 Civic. I've spent the last few weekends tortuously repairing the aftermath of a dropped tensioner spring, and this weekend was looking good for buttoning things up and getting back on the road. Getting down to the final nuts and bolts, and then I find this on the shelf:

Ermahgerd. What. The. H---. Can anyone tell me what this does and where it goes? I am completely stumped.

Thanks in advance,

Ray

Re: Help with ID on bracket?

I think that's the one that sits by the vtec solenoid but I could be wrong. If not it might be the bracket that sits halfway down the engine on the drivers side. I don't particularly remember seeing this but it might be different than mine if you have an auto.

As far as function it simply looks like it keeps wires in place. I have one that I did not install after finishing just because its a royal PITA to get it back in and serves no purpose besides making the wires look a bit tidier, which they do anyway if you tuck them away nicely. It is painted so i highly doubt is serves for a ground.

Re: Help with ID on bracket?

Thanks for the input! I was finally able to sort out that it was a bracket that supported the air cleaner assembly where it connects to the resonator. It screws into the back of the cylinder head; I had removed it when I sent the head off for repair. Now I just need to defeat the start/stall issue (think the timing is off a tooth) and I'll be all set.

Yea ok it was the one I was thinking of. I don't have that one installed but I have an aftermarket intake so it doesn't matter!
