Re: EVAP hose clamp

Um, I think you should be able to simply squeeze those white tabs in (some have one, others have two), then pull the fitting off.

Sometimes I can't squeeze them deep enough with just my fingers, so I use some round-jaw needlenose pliers.

I never had that problem.
I didn't even know they came out, I've never considered trying that.

I've had to blow out the trapped dirt and crap, and I've had to lube plastic stuff before it would budge though.

Now I gotta try it on the next one LOL.

Re: EVAP hose clamp

I'm gonna have to side with mikey on this one.

I have had my fuel pump out and tested my fuel pressure in the engine bay and both connectors were like the evap connector. They do slide out. They seem like they're act like a c-clip where you slide the hose in place and then stick the white part in to lock it in place.

Re: EVAP hose clamp

Yep -- it's this way on my Escort, but of course, waaaay more ghetto...

The fuel filter line fittings are secured with these. You have to lever them out, then pull them out completely on the Fords, to remove the fitting.

All the Big Four sportbikes and FI cruisers I've worked on though, use ezone's method -- the squarish tabs are what hold the fitting on; pushing the fitting on and squeezing them in allows the fitting to come off the long fuel nipple... the lock usually remains on the line. No clip to wrangle free and nearly damage out of spec, or drop onto oblivion. :P

like i said, i wasnt sure.....i couldnt find any info on the web so i crawled back under there for another look,

i noticed there was a small space between the white clips and the black connector part, so i stuck a flathead in there and pryed, at that point the white clip slid out about 1/8 of an inch,

so i just grabbed it with my fingers and pulled it out, same with the other one and the connector came apart easily after that,

it took quite a bit of force at first, but i was getting a bit frusterated and the thinking in my head at that time was its coming out one way or another, broken or not

luckily they both came out unbroken
