Jerking under load when downshifting
Jerking under load when downshifting
Hi, I posted in honda tech but no replies... I'm hoping someone can please help me... Thank you in advance!
So..
I just rebuild the trans in my 01 auto civic ex. It worked good for the first 4-5k miles but now its acting funny.. I used Lucas trans fluid and hope that didn't F me. It says it's compatible but I don't know now...
If u are under approximately 1/2 throttle there are no issues.. If u are more than half throttle then we see the problems.. Either trying to pass when the trans would kick down, or just accelerating from a stop it acts goofy. It feels like it's trying to shift up down up down up down really quickly.. It sounds like a car ready to launch with launch control.
Just recently it seems to be getting worse and if you floor it it will do the described above and if u keep the pedal down it will shift down again it seems but the car decelerates and it like someone cut the power out..
I since drained and added zf1. Twice.. Nothing.. I checked the shift, pressure control, and lockup solenoids. All in spec for resistance and all click when voltage is applied.the trans doesn't seem to slip while cruising..
I'm baffled please help!

I tried manual shifting to see if holding it in a lower gear would eliminate the problem. It did not.. Still does the same thing in all gears at around 3-3500k
I should also mention there is no CEL for trans. Also the D indicator is not flashing.
Here's a link to videos.. Hard to hear but maybe gives u an idea if what's going on.. The second video the gas is almost to the floor the complete second half of video. It acts like a manual if u down shift and coast downhill (no power slowly decrease in rpm)

Ok tonight I removed the pressure control solenoids, shift solenoids, tcc solenoid, and the sensor on the front of the trans looks like a speed sensor of some sort. I tested all of them according to alldata. All within spec and solenoids are moving. Still no trans codes in the ecu. Seems to be getting worse, and in all gears. Even if manual shifted it does it... I Also put it in neutral and it does it... So now I'm wondering if there some sort of rev limiter while the vehicle is not under acceleration and if so what makes it engage. I am about 90 percent positive the up and down revving is the engine speed and not going in and out if gear. I'm thinking it's being limited some how for some reason... Is it possible my trans is slipping in all gears? Oh also I tested the range sensor it failed but I don't think I had it adjusted correctly.. I tried with the 2 mm feeler gauge and also slight movements about 29 times.. I can't seem to get it adjusted right. It's either sloppy or the shaft is sloppy on the sensor...
