2005 1.7L. Acceleration problems at 2k-2.5k RPMs.
Literally just had the timing belt and water pump replaced yesterday and get back to work with no problem. Crank it at 5:30pm (after they've closed) and it's running fine until I'm on the highway at about 60mph with the tach at a 2000RPM reading. Between there and 2500RPM, it feels almost like it's skipping, RPMs bouncing give or take 100RPM up and down. Feels like it's missing, honestly, but I just changed the plugs last month. Fast forward, I take the plugs out and they're fine. I replaced them with stock NGK plugs.
This is the first semi-major repair I've had done outside of working on it myself. Also, I'll say up front that I'm alright when it comes to working on it, but by no means qualified to do serious work. If there's a video and I can see how something's done, I'm usually willing to attempt if I know I can't mess something up severely.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm taking it back to TVR tomorrow morning regardless, but I'd like to know what I'm talking about so they won't look at me like I'm crazy.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Forgot to add, it's not throwing any codes.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

NO idea....but you had better demonstrate your problem to the mechanic directly (take him on a quick test drive) so he knows exactly what problem you are after.
Actually.....First guess is that it is out of time by one tooth, but I really can't tell from your description.

hhhhmmm.....too much of a coincidence going on here.....i would suspect a timing problem,
as ezone said, probably off a tooth,
take it back and have them do the job properly this time, assuming they are capable
