NTC thermistors, drop resistance with temperature.
Clear enough? I dunno who's on third.
EDIT: I think my role in this misunderstanding, is that in my teching, a 'thermistor' was always assumed to be a PTC... when in reality both NTCs and PTCs are technically thermistors. Honda considers their 'thermistor' to be an NTC, when taking about their cars.

Thanks for all the feed back, and noted; car will crank but not start....I apologize for my incorrect verb-age. Just an update; I have a mechanic coming to look at my car this week to help me diagnose the problem as to why it will crank but won't start. He's a friend of a friend so won't cost me much. I did notice something strange though, if I turn the key to get the radio going the temp gauge automatically goes right to HOT. Seems strange.

try spraying carb or throttle cleaner into the throttle body while somebody tries to start it, there should be some form of life if you have a spark

look at your hood latch, now follow the ground strap near the hood latch to the engine, it is the connector right behind where that ground strap connects to the engine

I agree with OEM for critical timing parts.
You don't want to be this guy: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/3...-happened.html
Many recommend replacing the tensioner pulley set too.
Toronto is legit AFAIK.

Re: 03 Civic...Crank, No Start / Overheating
So I just had a mechanic I know look my car over....turns out the car wouldn't start because the engine was flooded. So that has been addressed and fixed....He also determined that the connector in the above video is most likely the reason why my car temperature gauge is reading HOT. He did however mention to me that I should replace my timing belt/water pump because I have 132,000KM on my engine and they have never been previously replaced. He suggested buying OEM Honda parts for these, so I'm curious guys if I just need a water pump and timing belt, or are there other parts needed too when replacing these? Also, I came across torontohondaparts.com which seem to seel OEM parts at an ok price, any other places I should look?

- timing belt
- water pump
- 2 drive belts
i would replace all the coolant while your at it, seeing as most of it will come out when you pull the water pump anyway,
i would leave the tensioner, unless you have lots of money to blow, depending on past maintanance you might consider replacing the spark plugs, air filter and PCV valve while your at it

That's what I'm going to do....replace the timing belt (I'll have my guy look at the tensioner and see what shape it's in), water pump...Just had the drive belts replaced last year, coolant for sure, I'll get him to check other things like spark plugs, etc.....Oh did I mention it won't start again now!!!!!!!!!! I'm wondering if it's the fuel? I tried to take it down to the gas station last night to pump like $20 of fuel into it but damn thing won't start again
