2002 non-vtec engine in 2005
I replaced engine in a 2005 Civic; the new engine is from 2002 Civic and it does not come with EGR.
The car cannot pass emission test because of the engine light due to non-existence of EGR.
Any solution?
Thanks!!!

Is there a simple block off plate where the EGR valve would go?
Was the PCM swapped to go along with the wrong engine?

Poopies,
if the engine codes are the same, should not be an issue. they will not be able to prove without receipts, nor noticed
however, if someone tries to install a D16Y8 from a 6th gen on a 7th gen, that could be found just by looking at the engine code stamped in the engine block.
the engines were pretty much the same on the 7th gen, so no issues should appear or be noticed at a quick inspection - they should perform the same pending mileage
