Question Noise coming from the belt side under hood...

I'm thinking it may be a bad pulley or bearing. Would like to know some opinions. The noise is HEAVY about the 36 sec mark and on. It's that constant hissing or screeching sound.

Man, my cat got all interested in the noise about :40 LOL

Does the noise change when the AC is turned on and off?

Have you tried using a stethoscope to locate the source of the noise?

Have you removed the belts to see if that eliminates the noise?

LMAO @ cat comment.

Haven't done anything yet, my mechanic is going to help me soon to try and find a solution. Last time it did it he took a screwdriver and put his ear to it and tried to locate the noise but nothing.

It kinda is the same with the AC being off and on. It's just a little louder with the air off because you hear it more. Some people believe it's a pulley or the bearing in the tensioner. I've had the tensioner replaced twice so I don't think it's that one though.

remove power steering belt and run engine

noise gone?.....power steering pulley is fried

if not, remove alternator belt and run engine

noise gone?.....alternator pulley or A/C pulley is fried

if none of that removes the noise, then your problem is most likely in the timing belt area, or camshaft/valve train area
