I think I ordered the wrong sensor >_<
Hello everyone, this is my first post and I'm stumped.
I recently scanned my 2005 Acura EL and got code P1035. I was told it's a primary O2 sensor heater code so I ordered what I thought was the correct sensor but I can't seem to find this sensor anywhere on my car.
Can someone here please tell me which sensor I need to fix this code?
Here is the link of the online store I purchased it from..
http://www.autopartsway.ca/PartList..../pagenum1/tabS
I ordered the first Denso sensor that is $114.69. After receiving the sensor in the mail, I realized that the Deson and the Bosch are totally different sensors. I thought the first two expensive sensors did the same thing and were branded differently.
From what I've read, This car is only supposed to have 2 O2 sensors but the website lists 3??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

04-05 civic is an AF sensor. 01-03 is an oxygen sensor.
Does the number on the one that came out of the car match the one you have?
You don't want a Bosch sensor, either Denzo or NTK.

Apparently after looking closer, the first sensor in the link I posted is for a Haundai or Kia and of course with my luck I purchased it. I just sent the site a return order so hopefully they won't charge me a restocking fee.
Is this the sensor I need?

That's a Bosch sensor. The one in your car should be a Denso or NTK.
The first link you posted looked like the correct part. It said 05 El on the site.

Technically speaking, an AF sensor is an O2 sensor. The difference, really, is that the 04-05 utilizes a wideband sensor vs the narrowband of 01-03. This is, however, just semantics.

Mikey,
the Acura EL is basically a Honda Civic with some luxury items and EX engine type (?), model is for Canada, not available in US (beign the reason you did not know that, so all is OK
)
Josh, yer not wrong, but you meant that AF/O2 sensor are the semantics you refer to
Wideband and narrow band, well, thats really not semantics, the biggest impact being on the wallet (wideband is 5x the price? and ECU will cause issues if you put a narrowband)

The semantics implied was, indeed, o2 sensor<->AF sensor. Narrow/wide band are differen beasts.
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Different design, different operational strategy, different everything except looks. Cannot swap one for the other. Different programming in the computer, it has no way to use the wrong design sensor.
OP needs to use whichever brand and type was originally installed in the car from the factory. If he took out a NTK, then put the identical NTK back in it.
If it had a DENSO, then put the same back in it.
Bosch has no place in these cars.
For a heater code, it only takes a couple ohms incorrect resistance to trip the code. There are at least 4 different low ohm resistance ranges used in various sensors.
