Honda Civic will not start or turnover

hello,

I have a 1999 honda civic lx automatic and i went to turn on my car and it wouldnt turn over it would just make a loud click. All my lights turn on and the radio as well as the lights in the car. I was wondering could it be my starter? I checked the battery and it is fine.

Do the dash lights go out when you try to start it and here the loud click?

Can you manually rotate the engine at the crank?

How did you check the battery and know it's good?

I've had everything say "not the battery" and replaced it and been back in business. I always go for the battery first. Just my 2 cents.

Everything turns on and the dash lights are fully bright, we checked the battery by putting one wrench on the negative side and positve side and it gave a spark, so the guy determined it was still good, the Frint head lights still shine bright, but should i go get it tested at oreilys? ANd could it not be the starter at all just the battery???

Just because you get spark doesn't mean the battery is good. However, have you tried taking a small hammer and giving the starting motor a tap or two?

I have and it started the car a few times, ever since then we tried and the car doesnt turn on at all, so were thinking that the starter to the car is shot now.

Right at THAT point it needed the starter.

I'd hate to see how y'all check if the house still has power or not.
