Troubleshoot Check Engine Light; Codes P0420,P0430, P0706 Need advice! Hey names Blake,
My check engine light for my 2000 Honda
Civic Lx came on 10/24. I took it up to AZ
to have a diagnostics taken and the codes
are P0706 (Def.: Open in transmission range
Switch circuit), P0420 and P0430 (def.:
Catalyst system efficiency below threshold
bank 1 and 2). I've recently replaced
(within the last 2-3 months) the range
control module (the chip or whatever it is
connected to the distributor) and the
catalytic converter. What do u think is
wrong?

(Looking in info for USA cars.)
That car cannot have a P0430 code. Absolutely impossible.
There is no listing for P0706 on that car either.
The P0420 MIGHT be valid, BUT the simple fact that their reader is giving codes that are impossible to have on that car kinda puts everything in question.
Not sure I'd want to trust anything from the Zoo.
Try something different.
