2003 civic p0341
2003 civic p0341
We recently purchased a used 03 civic coupe automatic w/ 155k miles from a private seller. A lot of work had been performed with documents to prove the previous owners meticulous care of the vehicle. He had an new transmission and belts installed in 2011 including a new timing belt and tensioner.
Shortly after the purchase the CEL tripped with a P0340, we replaced the Cam Positioning Sensor (which appeared to be fine), then it tripped a P0341 code. From what I've research this code could mean many issues.
What's confusing is that the timing belt and tensioner were replaced in 2011, not a lot of miles were driven since the change (25K), but the car has been sitting for a while before it was sold. However, the previous owner didn't think the valves were adjusted at the time of the change.
The CEL will come on for a while and then go off. Car has stalled and stuttered once upon start up. Other than that it runs ok.
any thoughts? need more info? Thank you!

Re: 2003 civic p0341
P0340 meant the computer saw NO cam sensor signal,
P0341 meant the computer saw an intermittent interruption in the cam sensor signal.
Could be a flaky sensor (aftermarket? Use factory parts.)
Could be the wire connector not fully clicked and latched,
Could be female terminals in the connector worn and fit too loose, lost grip.
Could be other stuff, but those seem to be the most common.
