Transmission Swap

Hey guys. So I have a 05 civic ex auto transmission and my friend who has a 01 civic lx non vtec has a 5 speed transmission and so we are going to swap transmissions and I wanted to know would it work out since his is an 01? His is fully stock so we are just going to be swapping parts back and forth since he wants an auto. I have read the DIY for auto to manual already just wanted to know how would i work out the vtec? Thanks. And also he said his throw out bearing is bad and makes a noise. How hard would that to be replace since I will have it off the car anyways?

Re: Transmission Swap

Sounds like a metric sh!tton of wasted and unnecessary work. Just swap cars title for title, or sell them and buy the cars you want.

Re: Transmission Swap

selling my car is not an option. My car has really low miles and works perfectly fine. I'm getting a manual swap just for a trade so why not.

You didn't wonder why nobody else responded for almost a week?

And also he said his throw out bearing is bad and makes a noise
It's not a throwout bearing noise. It's an input shaft bearing noise. Trans has to come apart.
I got 5 on it.

Still willing to give up a perfectly fine working automatic that runs and drives?

Of course, it's your car so do whatever you want.
