Rep Power: 0 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid sluggish (manual trans)
Hi All,
I recently bought a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid with ~157,000 miles on it. The IMA battery was replaced in 2011, and I consistently am getting ~48 hwy/ 39 city mpg.
My concern is that there is an incredible lack of power both accelerating on the freeway, and on inclines. For example, the car could not exceed 40 mph on a 7% grade hill yesterday.....floored.
Perhaps his is normal? The clutch appears to be in good working order. I would be interested to hear what other people who have experience with this vehicle have to say.
Many thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Learn how and when to downshift.
Keep the engine within its powerband when you need power.
