not emmision ready

i have a 2001 civic hx trying to get inspected but keep on saying not ready yet . the secdary air is not being completed. any suggeestions

Are you checking with a generic reader?
How about "Not Applicable".

I've never seen one with secondary air.
The only Hondas I'm aware of having that were some S2000's.


Check with your car.
This is found in your own owners manual, quote:
If possible, do not take your car for a
state emissions test until the
readiness codes are set. To check if
they are set, turn the ignition ON (II),
but do not start the engine. The
Malfunction Indicator Lamp will
come on for 20 seconds. If it then
goes off, the readiness codes are set.
If it blinks 5 times, the readiness
codes are not set.


Does your CEL do this or not?
