Transmission problems

Someone had problems with manual transmission on his 2k1 civic ?
My transmission turn on neutral when I downshift on second speed. When I turn on corner it's most the time in second gear so i'm tired of this. If someone had this problem tell me what was the cause of that problem.

Thanks and
excuse for my english

if you mean its popping out of second gear, its a common problem, take it back to the dealer to be fixed under warranty

Go to the dealer and tell them to look up TSB#01-081. Tell them to fix your car under that service bullitin. If they tell you they can't tell them that they have to and speak to the service manager. It will be free and you will have to be without your car for a bit. They will need to replace gears one, two and five and the shift fork for ane and two. Don't let them tell you it is just a bushing that needs to be replaced. Any questions email me 2cute

its a technical service bulletin number. the dealer can look up that number and find what they need to do to fix the problem

TSB#=Technical Service Bullitin number. I'm will to bet that your dealership will tell you there are no reclamations on your car and won't know of the service bullitin so you need to go in there with the info and how then can look it up. There are two diferent common problems under that service bullitin so make sure they do the right one.

i'm back to the site! got the summer now to waste some time with you all...

tranny stuff:

i've been waiting for a year now to deal with mine and finally this week i did it. my car is in the shop and they are doing both repairs on the TSB. the bushing AND the (at least) eight different internal components that are defective. i was having the 2nd gear problems abd also finding it nearly impossible to drop into reverse.

i cannt wait to get it back fixed and enjoy the euro-style smooth shifting that our cars are supposed to have. no more embarassing grinds! no more embarassing difficulty getting it to go into reverse on hot dates!

maybe i'll now feel worthy of the dropped suspension.

BTW: the rental they gave me was a Chevy Metro and it was the WORST car i have ever driven. i complained and now have been upgraded to the new Neon, which is much better but still a dog compared to my civic. the rental dude (Enterprise) said they didn't have any Hondas in their fleet. WTF?!?!

I have problems sometimes getting into reverse too. And I get help from the car popping it out of 2nd but i thought it was normal, I just got used to it. Now I will go kick a$$ at the dealership and get my car fixed. Thanks for the info.
