Hch cvt starte clutch
Hch cvt starte clutch
I have a 05 HCH with the common starter clutch shutter and it is past the 100k miles warranty....by about 60k miles. I have run it this way for maybe two years. Can I just live with the CVT shutter or will it eventually bite me in the wallet?

Can't tell you for certain, but I have many customers that won't spend the money to replace the start clutch, and have not seen any other failures.....yet.
Changing the fluid a few times might help. Use the correct Honda CVT fluid. Change it every 30k or more often.

Re: Hch cvt starte clutch
Honda has just released a different fluid for the all new CVT transmissions for 2013 Accord so far... you cannot use this stuff.
Just got a bottle on the shelf 20 minutes ago, the label says it is not compatible with regular CVT fluid and cannot be interchanged.
Sorry about that.
Make sure you get the correct fluid for your car.
