2004 civic clunking/knocking sound from front end
Hi
I drive a 2004 Honda Civic LX (62500km) on her. Recently, she has developed a sound from the front end. The kicker about the sound is that it appears when the car has settled for a few hours (usually overnight).
I will pull out of my driveway & the sound is there for probably the first 5 minutes of my drive maybe a little longer lately. My drive is usually straight with no immediate turns. Once the car has been moving for awhile (doesn't matter the speed) the sound completely disappears and I will go over bumps, cracks in the road and nothing.
The sound sounds like it is coming from the middle to the passenger side & I have felt it under my feet as well if that is possible.
My mechanic (and a friend) doesn't know what the sound is nor does he know where it is coming from. I don't want to throw parts at it if I do not have too. He says everything under the car looks solid, so the puzzling part about this is that it goes away.
Any ideas? because this is driving me mental & by the time I would take it to a garage the sound would be gone. A clunk or a knock sound like metal is hitting something.

Look at the front bushing of the front lower control arms for tearing/massive failure. I bet you get a view of total failure.
