I would like to install a/c in my 2002 Civic DX (which I bought used and does not currently have a/c).

Long story short, the only a/c kit I can find online is for a 2003 Civic DX. My mechanic says he can install it but asked me if there were any differences in the dash b/n the 02 and 03s. He's worried about the air management system, control location, etc.

Does anyone know what, if anything, changed b/n the 02 and 03 interior, specifically, dash-wise?

Thanks!

Longer story:
I can't find an installation kit for a 2002 Civic DX but I have found a few for the 2003. According to Honda's installation instructions, only the wire on the compressor had it's length "improved". My mechanic says he can install a 2003 kit no problem and the wire's not an issue. He did ask me if... (the above about dash differences).

I can't think of any differences that would prohibit stuffing the system into the car.
I can't even think of any electrical differences between the 2 years that have to do with the AC.

So I looked at the instructions for the install.
It says:

What’s New

The installation instructions for the 2003 Civic
A/C are the same as the 2002 model. However,
the A/C kit numbers are different because of
improvements to the wire length on the
compressor:
• 80000-S5D-A22 for U.S.
• 80000-S5D-C22 for Canada

Looks to me like you are golden.

You got the instructions? You can find them in a PDF here: http://estore.honda.com/
Pick Honda, then Accessories, then you can get the instructions in the right side column.
