2002 civic lx coupe H emblem

So my husband backs out of the garage today in our subaru and forgot the civic was parked behind it. I guess the bumper of the subaru landed on top of the front bumper. I opened the hood to see if it would open and close ok. It did but I noticed a slight gap when I closed it. Probably the worst of it is that the front grill where the H is is jacked up. The H is on a center rail and is pushed down behind the lower rail. Nothing looks cracked and it seems like it's lined up everywhere else. The H is almost halfway below the bottom rail. I tried to pull it up with my hand but it didn't seem to want to move. I had to leave for work so I left it alone. So, how do you think I should approach trying to get it back in it's spot?

TIA

Nice to see people joining the forums for little things! The problem is you hot it with a subaru, had it been another honda, it might have been a cute little makeout scene!

Can you post a picture of it to help illustrate the problem? Would probably be easiest to remove the entire front bumper to manipulate the damage. There are only 4 sscrews and a pile of poppers.

Does the H move at all when you move it with your hand?

Best,
Antonio

So our pristine 2002 civc with only 35K on it that we got about 5 months ago has 2 dents now. At least they're in the same area. My 17 yo who drives in jumped a curb and hit a no u turn pole. She said the brakes didn't work. I think she hit some gravel and the abs came on and she didn't know how to react. Made a crease in the center where the plate is and ripped off half the plastic shroud underneath the car. So now I have this problem. I grabbed the H section and tried to force it upwards. It moved somewhat but didn't pop back to the center like it should have. It is tucked under the bottom rail. I am asking my daughter to send me the pic she took this morning so I'll post when I get it. I didn't want to mess with it until I saw where it is supposed to be positioned.

I would grab the bumper with both hands so that your pinkies are touching the H emblem and gently push the H in and push up at the same time, you might scuff the H a bit, but you should be good. Take a hair dryer and warm the middle part of the grill up a bit, or let it sit in the hot sun. It will make it move a bit easier!

Very upsetting! Keep your daughter from texting and driving!! No excuse for not seeing a curb! :'(

I'll be armed with the hair dryer and will let you know how it goes! Thanks!

So the car was all warmed up and it made the plastic grill all nice and flexible. Popped it back into place and it looks almost as good as it did before the Subaru attacked it. Thanks for the input!
