Last week I had my check engine light come on. I was near the dealership, so I drove over. They asked about the gas cap. I told them I had filled up just the day before. They checked the cap and put back on. Then the service rep had one of the head techs come out to take a reading. He said I needed an O2 sensor - s1/b1. Over $460.00.

They said they would over night order the part. I made an appointment for the following week on my next day off.

I turned on the car and left. The light was on. Went a short way, parked my car. When I got back in the light was off. And, it stayed off. Five days later (and over 100 miles) I called to cancel the appointment. The service rep told me that the light can come back on at any time. Maybe at fifty miles. Maybe 100. I am now well over 170 miles since.

To make a long story short. My Georgia emissions test was this month. On a hunch, I took it in. Passed.
