engine swap done, now clutch problem

just swapped a d17a1 into my fiends ex, had a d17a2, but couldn't find the vtec one around. anyways got it all put back together and installed, the problem is the clutch pedal falls to the floor and doesn't return, bled the slave cylinder and everything. there just doesnt seem to be much travel in the slave cylinder if i hold it my have a friend press the clutch. it hardly moves the fork sometime. im wondering if the slave cylinder is bad, or if there is an issue with the fork, it seems to have a lot of play in it. i just changed the clutch and release bearing as a first shot, but same issue. when i put it back together should the fork be all the way towards the engine side of the hole, this one sits centered in the hole. from what it looks like it should be further forward. i've been searching around, but can't find much on it. looking for photos or anything to help. please help! need to get this thing done!
