engine help
i've got an 01 ex with 230,000 miles on it. recently started knocking. wondering if that means i should just go towards a full swap or stick to my low budget and try to make small fixes here and there.
Re: engine help
Are you sure it's not the valves tapping? When was the last time the valves were adjusted?
Have it professionally diagnosed to determine what's wrong. If it's the bottom end just get a new engine (usually $500-1000 for the engine and $1000-2000 for labor). If it's the top end the valves need to be inspected to determine if you need new valves or a complete head. And replacing that depends on the cost of a new head or valve replacement. New heads can be had pretty cheap on eBay, craigslist, or here: http://www.car-part.com/
