A suspension question, probably a stupid one, bear with me.

So I just replaced my pads & rotors, everything went great.

But!

When I pulled my wheels off, I noticed (what looked like) the control arm bushing was shot, on both sides (I have an 01 lx coupe, by the way). I have noticed that when I take turns, I hear a clicking sound, which a buddy of mine said was my cv joints.

My questin is, Is that bushing that's blown related to the clicking sound? Or do I need new joints AND bushings? I'm planning on replacing those bushings, is there a more technical term I can search for other than control arm bushing?

Thanks in advance for your help, you guys are always really good.

Torn LCA bushings make a sort of a pop when going over bumps. If there's a click when going around corners then most likely they are CV joints, because that's when a cv is being put under load.

Compliance bushing would be the technical term, but everyone refers to them as LCA bushings. If they're torn, they need to be replaced. You can replace them with OEM or upgrade energy suspension bushings, which require removing the control arm and taking it to a shop to have the old ones pressed out and the new ones pressed in. Alternatively, you can order complete control arm replacements with the bushings already inserted, which would be slightly more expensive but less hassle if you do the repair yourself.

Thanks, I've noticed the pop and figured it was the cv joints as well. I was thinking about getting a new control arm assembly up front.
