I'm not reading over this entire thread. However, 25MPG isnt that bad if your driving around in the city. Good luck finding a more fuel efficient vehicle, your going to have to go with a smart car or something because these things are about as good as it gets without going hybrid or mini car. I see manufacturers advertising 59MPG on new car windows but that's total B.S.

BlueEM2= r u sure? cuz ive asked other civic owners and most have said they get like 350-400 miles with a full tank giving them 35-40mpg. i just feel like i fill up too often. i want to keep the car cuz its my baby but i feel like somethings wrong with it

If your doing a lot of city driving then your mileage will be less than others. I get 33-34MPG consistantly in my civic but im doing ALL highway.. I could get less if I drove around the city, I can easilly drop it to 22-23 if I really wanted to.

If you want real, accurate MPG calculations of cars. go to www.fuelly.com and do some digging. You will get some real numbers.

In fact my last fill up I got only 28mpg doing almost all highway but speeding perfusely.

The price of fuel has nothing to do with gas mileage. If that logic is used, then you need a 5 gallon gas tank to keep the cost of a fill up down.

A week is not 9 days long, even if it feels like it.

Sooooo, no actual numbers here that are relevant except 290 miles.

290 miles/10 gallons=29 MPG. Not bad for city driving at all.
I'm getting 26-29 in my 12 Civic on my daily drive.

^And there is a guy who knows his ****.... 29mpg = not bad... your car is fine, if you want a more fuel efficient car be ready to dole out for a hybrid, or you can buy a mini car. As I mentioned before.

ok guys thanks for the help i just thought there was something wrong with my car, i guess not! lol and ezone i know theres 7 days in a week lol but usually i fill up before 7 days but this time i barely used my car so thats why it lasted 9 days and every fill up i spend about 40 dollars to fill it up so thats y i said that i know it has nothing to do with gas mileage and it actually took 11 gallons so it was 290/11=26.4mpg but thats normal ive learned from u guys so thanks again!

go to www.fuelly.com and you will find that our civics range anywhere from 20mpg (all city) to about 40 (all highway). Driving style has a lot to do with it too. On that website you will see hybrids are the only ones that are really doing 40+. People on there are pretty truthful.

I know he didn't give real gas mileage numbers this time.
We have customers that only think about the price of a fill up, and then cry about gas mileage. It just doesn't work that way.

All I know is any time the car isn't in high gear, you aren't getting the best gas mileage. That means sitting in traffic, stop and go, letting it warm up, slow moving, etc. isn't getting the gas mileage it may be capable of.

Driving habits are easily 80% of gas mileage issues, for anyone. No two people drive exactly the same way, the same route, the same car, etc.
You all can't compare highway numbers to city numbers.
My city numbers won't be the same as someone that drives a different route, or has a longer trip to work, or whatever.

My daily trip is only 5.6 miles each way.
If I drive to the other side of town, my mileage goes up a bit, without changing the WAY I drive it, only because of the time it takes for the engine to warm up and the additional fuel it takes to achieve operating temperature. Over half of my daily trip is with a engine that isn't warmed up yet. That means extra fuel has to be burned to warm up that engine.
